Ballerina – Ana de Armas Enters the John Wick Action Universe
Action fans, sharpen your blades, Ballerina is coming. From the explosive world of John Wick arrives a brand-new chapter, this time with a deadly new lead in Ana de Armas. Hitting cinemas on 6 June 2025, Ballerina spins a fresh, blood-soaked tale of revenge, honour, and high-octane violence. With the grit, style, and mythos fans have come to love, this isn’t just another spin-off—it’s a bullet-laced ballet set to blow audiences away.
Revenge Has a New Rhythm
Set between the events of John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum and Chapter 4, Ballerina follows Eve Macarro, a young woman raised in a shadowy ballet academy run by the Ruska Roma—a front for a secret assassin training program. When her family is brutally killed, Eve’s grief fuels a relentless mission for vengeance. But in this world, nothing is ever as it seems.
As she pursues her targets, Eve becomes entangled in the politics and power plays of the High Table, crossing paths with familiar faces—and dangerous new ones. With sleek action, slow-burn suspense, and emotional depth, Ballerina is a thrilling evolution of the John Wick universe.
A Cast Sharpened for Action
Ana de Armas leads the charge as Eve Macarro, a ballerina in training whose journey into the world of professional assassins takes a deadly turn. A younger version of Eve is portrayed by Victoria Comte, giving insight into her haunting past.
Supporting her story is a powerhouse ensemble. Ian McShane returns as Winston Scott, the smooth-talking owner of the New York Continental Hotel, where Eve finds sanctuary. The late Lance Reddick makes his final on-screen appearance as Charon, the beloved concierge and quiet force of calm and precision. Their presence ties Eve’s journey directly to John Wick’s world, offering fans a bittersweet reunion.
Anjelica Huston reprises her role as the formidable Director—the matriarch of the Ruska Roma who shaped Eve’s destiny. Gabriel Byrne joins the universe as the Chancellor, a ruthless leader determined to crush Eve’s rebellion in his territory. Norman Reedus adds mystery as Daniel Pine, a character shrouded in intrigue and danger.
And yes—Keanu Reeves is back as John Wick himself, making a key appearance that anchors this spin-off firmly within the Wick mythos.
Rounding out the cast are Sharon Duncan-Brewster as Nogi, Eve’s steely mentor; Sooyoung Choi as Katla Park, a crucial figure in Eve’s first mission; and Catalina Sandino Moreno and David Castañeda in undisclosed but pivotal roles. This is a cast designed to kill—figuratively and literally.
Why You Need to See It on the Big Screen
From the first frame, Ballerina promises a visually arresting, viscerally thrilling ride. With its stylised cinematography, pulse-pounding fight sequences, and richly detailed sets, this film was built for the big screen. Director Len Wiseman brings a new flavour to the franchise—more refined, more emotional, but just as brutal.
Whether it’s Eve taking on a room full of assassins or navigating the opulent corridors of the Continental, every scene is packed with the kind of cinematic craftsmanship that deserves to be experienced in a dark theatre, surrounded by the sounds of thudding bass and echoing gunfire. For longtime John Wick fans, it’s a welcome expansion. For newcomers, it’s an electrifying entry point.
